Brenda & Yi-Jau’s Album

After posting below and including a photo from Brenda and Yi-Jau’s wedding,  I thought, I never did get to blog their wedding from the summer of 2009 and since I have 20 images from her day on my desktop, I thought I’d do a blog post now! The images below are the 20 photos Brenda chose for her album. Family is very important to them so about 1/4 of the album shows those groupings that are near and dear to their hearts. The bride and groom got ready at the fabulous hotel in downtown Portland, The Nines. We took some photos in their awesome  lobby and then continued to the Armory via a cab, where we took additional couple photos around the cool exterior of the building. After a quick ride on the streetcar,  we photographed  the fun and very funny bridal party and the families at The Ecotrust Wall, Tanner Springs Park, and outside a tall building in the pearl that provided much needed shade and a beautiful background of bamboo for the formals. The ceremony began with the ladies and bride arriving in Portland Pedicabs to the ceremony site, Tanner Springs. The ceremony was incredibly beautiful with the backdrop of the warm rusty wall and tall wheat colored grass surrounding the park, lending a certain charm. The fun and fabulous reception was on the rooftop of The Ecotrust building nearby with a tea ceremony, dancing, dinner, and tearful toasts. The walk from the ceremony to the reception area with the bride and groom and the guests was a blast! You can view a video of part of their day from their videographer, Josh Gray Media, here. Brenda wanted all of her photos for the album in black and white, but you can see from their wedding video, her wedding colors were so rich and vibrant, blues, greens, fuschia, and ivories. What a great wedding it was and so much fun revisiting it today!
